A2P 10DLC registration in HighLevel

If a business texts US numbers from a regular 10-digit local number, it needs an approved A2P 10DLC brand and campaign, and the number must be linked to that campaign before sending. [What is A2P 10DLC: Brand and Campaign Registration, updated 2026-09-04; checked 2026-10-25] Here is the process, what it costs, and how to avoid the usual rejections.

Where it lives

In the sub-account: Settings > Phone System > Trust Center, then the A2P messaging section. Each business registers its own brand with its own legal details.

Step 1: choose the brand type

Brand typeWho it's forRegistration fee (one-time)Campaign fee (monthly)
Sole ProprietorIndividuals or one-person businesses with no EIN or other business registration number. One number can be linked.$22.5 (includes $3 non-refundable Fast Track)up to $2.10
Standard, Low VolumeBusinesses with an EIN/Tax ID and lower daily volume$22.5$1.50–$10.50
Standard, High VolumeBusinesses with an EIN/Tax ID and higher volume$64$10.50

[LC Phone Pricing & Billing Guide, updated 2026-10-12; checked 2026-10-25] A business that has a Tax ID must register as a Standard brand, not Sole Proprietor. When re-billing is enabled, a 5% markup applies to these pass-through fees at the sub-account level.

Step 2: brand details (must match tax records)

New EIN? A newly issued EIN that hasn't propagated yet is a listed rejection reason. If the EIN is only days old, wait before submitting.

Step 3: campaign

You choose between Chat Widget Setup (the default: HighLevel generates an opt-in widget and pre-fills most fields) and Manual Setup (for consent collected another way: your own web form, paper, QR code, kiosk, verbal). Rejections and how to fix them

Rejection causeFix
Legal name or EIN mismatchCopy the name character-for-character from the IRS letter.
Website not live, or doesn't match the brandPublish the site with the same business name and contact details.
Privacy Policy or Terms missing or not publicAdd both pages and link them in the footer.
Chat widget on a page with another SMS opt-in formThe widget must be the only SMS consent form on that page.
DBA inconsistencyMake the website, policies and checkbox text match. If you use a DBA, add "We are doing DBA as [name]" to the use case.
Sample messages missing sender name or opt-out, or containing merge fieldsRewrite them as plain example messages like the ones above.
Mixed use case with a pre-checked consent boxTwo separate consent checkboxes, neither pre-selected.

Open the rejected campaign and choose View required fixes to see the reason. Some fields lock after submission, which can mean creating a new campaign; eligible rejected campaigns can be resubmitted without a second vetting fee.
