Rebilling and wallets explained

Rebilling (HighLevel now also calls it usage-based reselling) means a client's usage of phone, email and AI is charged to that client instead of to you. It's the difference between usage being your cost and being their cost.

What can be rebilled

Usage-based LC services such as LC Phone, LC Email, AI and WhatsApp conversations. Some resellable items (for example Yext, WordPress hosting, WhatsApp and Conversation AI subscriptions) have monthly fees charged to the card on file. How wallets work

Practical consequence: a client with an expired card stops sending texts and receiving calls through LC Phone. Add a workflow or a weekly check for failed wallet reloads, and tell clients upfront how the wallet works.

The 5% on pass-through fees

HighLevel's LC Phone guide says a fixed 5% markup is applied at the sub-account level to pass-through charges (A2P registration fees, SMS/MMS carrier fees, Verified Caller ID and RCS carrier fees), only when re-billing is enabled. Its own example: with a 2x agency multiplier, a $10.00 carrier fee is billed to the location as $21.00 with re-billing on, and $10.00 with it off.
